UPND Resignations Due To Intolerance-Wina

By Ruth Chayinda-Vice President Inonge Wina says the continued resignation of UPND Councillors is attributed to intolerance and undemocratic tendencies of the opposition party’s leadership.Mrs. Wina says the Councillors are defecting out of frustration because they are always curtailed from interacting with government officials in their quest to facilitate development in their wards. The Vice President says the PF cannot be blamed for the defections which are instigated by the UPND leadership. She also says the PF does not have resources to engage in clandestine activities of buying off councillors who are merely leaving out of their own free will.Mrs. Wina said this in parliament when responding to a question raised by Lubansenshi Member of parliament George Mwamba during the Vice President’s question time.Mr. Mwamba wanted to find out what is causing UPND Councillors to resign from their party and join the ruling PF.
