UPND Praises Church’s role in peaceful poll

ZANIS-United Party for National Development -UPND- Religious Affairs Committee Chairperson KELLY MUKONKA has praised the Church and religious organizations for the role they played in ensuring peaceful elections.

Mr. MUKONKA says the prayers were well received by the electorate, hence the peace that was witnessed on the voting day.

He has told ZNBC news that the UPND has an open-door policy and is ready to work with all religious stakeholders.

Mr. MUKONKA said the incoming Government is charged with a task to maintain the peace the country has enjoyed over the years and enhancing the one Zambia one Nation motto.

He said now is not a time to segregate those that lost the elections but to embrace them to work together in national development.

Mr. MUKONKA called for the need to unite as Zambia is a Christian Nation.
