UPND Luangwa ward candidate declared duly elected councillor

Mushota Mpundu-The Kitwe elections tribunal for local government has declared UPND candidate Mary Zulu as duly elected councilor for Luangwa ward in Kamfinsa constituency.
This was after Ms Zulu who earlier got two thousand nine hundred and
eighty seven votes petitioned the victory of PF candidate James Zulu who polled two thousand nine hundred and ninety nine votes in the August 12 polls.
Ms Zulu had contested that 56 of her ballots were deliberately not
accounted for during the counting process after the August 12 polls
giving victory to PF candidate JAMES MULENGA.
And after a recount and addition of the said votes at the Kitwe magistrate Court Ms Zulu emerged winner with three thousand and 47 votes while PF’s JAMES MULENGA remained at two thousand nine hundred ninety nine votes.
And speaking in an interview with ZNBC News UPND Kitwe Youth Chairman
BOWAS KAPATA said the outcome of the petition is a true reflection of the will of people and that Ms Zulu will deliver to the expectations of the people.
Meanwhile Ms ZULU thanked the people for giving her a vote adding that she will work hard to fulfil her campaign promises to the electorates in Luangwa.
