UPND LOSES MORE MEMBERS

June 26, 2019June 26, 20194By Mary Mwiinga:United Party for National Development -UPND- Copperbelt Provincial Trustee in-charge of Fundraising Faith Mushongo and Chibombo District Youth Chairperson Paul Mweemba have defected to the Patriotic Front -PF.Ms. Mushongo who was UPND Kwacha Constituency Parliamentary Candidate in 2016 says she has decided to leave the opposition party because there is no unity of purpose.She says the UPND has failed to grow the party from the grassroots.Ms. Mushongo said President Edgar Lungu is taking development to all parts of the country.And Mr. Mweemba said he could not continue with the UPND because it does not consider young people as partners in development.He said it is a pity that Chibombo District has been dominated by the opposition party for a long time which has led the area to be underdeveloped.The two announced their defections at the PF secretariat in Lusaka today.The opposition UPND officials were not readily available to comment by broadcast time.
