Unza student dies after falling from hostel roof top

A second year engineering student at the University of Zambia has died after falling off the roof top of Block Africa One Hotel.

The Block is a four storey building measuring between 35 and 40 meters.

DAVIES NGUNI aged 21 fell off from the rooftop while the deceased was alledgedly drinking beer with two other students.

Police Spokesperson RAE HAMOONGA has confirmed that NGUNI was rushed to Levy Mwanawansa University Teaching Hospital as he was still gasping for breath, but unfortunately was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The next of Kin who lives in Mongu has been informed.

The Police Spokesperson said after inspection, NGUNI seems to have sustained a fractured neck, no physical injuries were observed except for bleeding from both the nose and mouth.

The body has been transferred from Levy Mwanawansa University Teaching Hospital to the University Teaching Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem and burial.
