The Under 17 National Team will begin its search for an African title and a FIFA World Cup spot when they face Nigeria this evening.

The match slated for 18:00 hours in Algeria is Zambia’s group b opener.

The junior Chipolopolo will be making their second appearance at the continental showpiece having suffered a misfortune of a cancelled tournament in 2021 due to COVID-19.

Today’s match will be the second time that the young Chipolopolo meet NIGERIA at the AFCON.

Coach IAN BAKALA is expected to keep faith in the majority of boys that sealed qualification to the AFCON and won the COSAFA Championship last December.

In the other Group B match, Morocco will tackle South Africa at 21:00 hours.

The top four teams at this year’s Under 17 AFCON will earn slots to the 2023 FIFA World Cup to take place later this year.

Meanwhile in the MTN Super league, Green Buffaloes will aim at consolidating a spot in the top four with an away win to Kansanshi Dynamos.

ZESCO United will lock horns with Chambishi at the Nkana stadium in Kitwe.
