U-17 READY FOR 2020 COSAFA CUP TOURNAMENT

The Zambia Under-17 National Football team Assistant Coach Dickson Chungu has declared the team ready for the 2020 COSAFA Cup tournament.

Coach Chungu says the players are ready to go and defend the title at this year’s tournament which kicks off tomorrow.

He says the team departs for South Africa on Monday morning where the tournament will be held from the 16th to the 28th of November 2020.

He told ZNBC Sports News in an interview that the response from the players in training has been overwhelming and that they are ready to compete.

Chungu says the team’s target is to finish in the top two and qualify for next year’s U-17 AfCON tournament.

And U-17 Captain Miguel Chaiwa said   the players will put in their best to ensure that they defend the title and qualify for the AfCON.

Meanwhile, the team has been drawn in Group B of the 2020 COSAFA Cup tournament along with Botswana, Malawi and Comoros Islands.
