TWO MORE DIE IN SOUTHERN PROVINCE FLOODS

The number of people known to have died so far from floods in Southern Province has increased to four after two more deaths were recorded in Choma and Kalomo’s Dundumwezi area due to heavy current caused by a heavy downpour experienced in the province over the last two days.

Choma Mayor Javen Simoloka has confirmed the development to Phoenix News in Choma saying the number of those who have died has risen to 4 after 2 deaths were earlier recorded yesterday.
Mr. Simoloka says his office is yet to receive other incidents caused by the heavy down pour in the entire district.

And Dundumwezi Member of Parliament Edgar Sing’ombe is urging people in his constituency to be vigilant of their children during this rain season after a girl was swept away by floods in Namacha village yesterday.
Southern Province is experiencing heavy rains with Choma district recording the highest so far.
