TWO FILE IN FOR KAFUE COUNCIL SEAT

 
Two candidates have successfully filed in their Nomination Papers for the Kafue Town Council Chairperson By-Election set for March 27th.
Returning Officer Kaheko Kafuti declared both nomination papers from the United Party for National Development (UPND) and the Patriotic Front (PF) valid.
The UPND candidate Beatrice Kayuni was the first to file in her nomination at 12:24.
And Ms. Kayuni says as an indigenous Kafue resident,  she will deliver to the expectations of the people in the District.
Meanwhile, UPND District Chairperson Clifford Mwaba says the party will engage in a peaceful campaign and will not ferry cadres to avoid causing confusion.
Mr. Mwaba has urged Political Parties in the District to co-exist and allow the people to elect the best candidate.
And PF candidate Brigadier General Moono Simakoloyi filed in his nomination papers at 14:50hrs.
Brigadier General Simakoloyi said his campaign will be based on love and fair play.
PF campaign manager Given Lubinda said President Edgar Lungu has instructed the campaign team not to tolerate any member who will be found engaging in violent campaigns.
The Kafue Town Council Chairperson post became vacant following the resignation of the incumbent Thomas Zulu.
