Turkish Locomotive Maker Eager to Partner With ZR

Turkish Locomotive and Engine Industry Incorporated says the company is looking forward to a strategic partnership with Zambia Railways in developing new technologies in locomotive designs.The firm is also interested in the refurbishment and improving the general operations of the railway system in Zambia.Company General Manager Hayri Avci says the Turkish firm also seeks to provide skills training in production of locomotives.Mr. Avci further expressed interest to develop an inner-city railway system in partnership with Zambia Railways LimitedHe said this when Zambia’s Ambassador to Turkey Joseph Chilengi visited the factory in Turkey.And Dr. Chilengi said he was aware that Turkish Locomotive and Engine Industry Incorporated is one of the key actors in the modernization of Turkey’s railway system and that Zambia is looking forward to learning best practices from the company.This is according to a statement issued to ZNBC news by first Secretary for Press and public relations at the Zambian Embassy in Turkey Jerry Munthali.
