TRIBALISM IRKS CHIEF CHONA

Chief Chona of the Tonga speaking people of Monze District in southern province has supported the move taken by member of the Central committee Kebby Mbewe to protest against tribalism and propaganda.Chief Chona says politicians should avoid peddling lies against the country and individuals in their quest to ascend to power.He says the propaganda messages are not only affecting government officials but also ordinary citizens.Chief Chona has since urged other traditional leaders to condemn activities that are meant to divide the country.He said this when Mr. Mbewe paid a courtesy call on him at his palace.And Mr. Mbewe said the fight against propaganda which is mainly engineered by the opposition requires all Zambians to stand up and condemn it.Mr. Mbewe has embarked on the walk from Lusaka to Livingstone protesting against the well calculated propaganda which is aimed at denting the image of the country and government.
