TREBLE WINNER MUTAPA SCOOPS TOP GONG AT SPORTS COUNCIL AWARDS

Junior Chipolopolo Boys coach Osward Mutapa was named male coach of the year at the National Sports Council of Zambia Awards at a gala on Friday at Lusaka’s Mulungushi International Conference.

The former Nkwazi and Lumwana Radiants coach won three trophies in a single calendar year.

While the Chipolopolo Boys struggled on the continent, Mutapa put a smile on the faces of the Chipolopolo faithful as he reigned supreme in Southern Africa.

Mutapa led Zambia Under-17 to the Cosafa U17 Championship to victory in Malawi to win his first trophy in 2019.

He then guided Prince Mumba led Under 20 to the Cosafa U17 Championship on home soil to claim his regional double.

While the Copper Bullets headed to North Africa for friendly games, Mutapa temporarily took charge of the friendly match against Namibia.

A locally assembled side beat the brave Warriors in Windhoek to claim a trophy. That’s a treble for Junior.
