Three people die in a bus accident, Police Say
THREE people have died while ten (10) others have sustained multiple serious injuries after a Toyota Hiace they were travelling in overturned three times along the Senanga-Mongu road on Sunday.
The accident involved a Hiace minibus registration number AUB 761 which was being driven by 23 year old Mate Mate of Mbuywana stage four Mongu.
Deputy Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said the accident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle and overturned three times and one male passenger causing only identified as Abel died on spot while two others identified as Liseli Alexia aged 22 and Munalula Matala sustained Fatal head injuries and died at Senanga Hospital.
Hamoonga identified those who were seriously injured as Muhau Mable aged 28 years who sustained an amputated left arm and body injuries; Mwiya Nawa aged 17 years who sustained multiple cuts on the head and bruised abdomen; Simata Mubita aged 27 years who sustained bruised shoulder and General body pains, all of Kashembe area in Mongu.
He said others were Pumulo Ngonde aged 20 years of Katongo area Mongu who sustained a painful right shoulder; Monde Imasiku aged 28 years of Village Kaunda who sustained deep cuts on the left leg and general body pains; a One Year Ten months baby of Kashembe Mongu which sustained Bruised face and General body pains, Mufuka Ndala aged 19 years of Kashembe area who sustained a painful right shoulder; Priscilla Mwanamwalye aged 32 years of Katongo Mongu who sustained painful right shoulder and General body pains, Mundia Nawa aged 20 years of Kashembe area who sustained bruised right arm and Pumulo Mwangala aged 43 years of Kashembe area who sustained painful neck and multiple cuts on the left arm and a painful left leg.
Hamoonga said the Toyota Hiace was extensively damaged and that all the injured and the driver are admitted at Senenga District Hospital.
