This is the worst defeat since I took over – Makinka

Nkwazi head coach Dennis Makinka yesterday’s defeat to Power Dynamos was his worst game since he took over as the coach of the Police sponsored outfit over a year ago.

Powerful Power Dynamos beat Nkwazi by three goals to one to record their first victory over Makinka’s team in Lusaka since 2008 and overall since 2016.

Nkwazi were unbeaten in their last three games were looking to extend that good form against Abayellow who were also looking for their second straight victory in Lusaka after beating Red Arrows 1-0 a couple of weeks ago.

Makinka admitted that Power Dynamos were the better side hence they won.

“It was a difficult game its never easy to play against Power Dynamos we did not start well, I thought they had a lot of moments especially in the first half, I thought we did not apply ourselves well we came back, but just at the beginning of the second half we lost concentration but all in all credit goes to Power they were the better team they have carried the day congratulations to them,” he said.

“I think today concentration at the back was not there, I think this is the worst game since I took over as Nkwazi coach I think this is the worst game that we have conceded more than two goals, cause the maximum that we allow is two goals, but for us to allow three not good we lacked concentration at the back.”

Power dynamos opened the scoring through Biston Banda in the 14th minute then Eric Chomba restored parity in the 19th minute and the teams went to the break level 1-1.

Two quick second-half goals from Benson Sakala in the 55th minute and Chaniza Zulu in the 56th minute were enough to ensure Abayellow travel back to Kitwe with all three points.

High Flying will host Nkana next this Wednesday another Kitwe giant and Power Dynamos host the Magnificent People’s team, Kabwe Warriors.
