Thieves kill bar tender,another in critical condition

One person has been killed while another was left battling for his life when criminals robbed Solomon Tavern Bar in Lusaka’s George Compound.

This happened around 01 hours today.

Two bar attendants were inside the tavern when the incident happened.

Zambia Police Deputy Public Relations Officer DANNY MWALE has identified the deceased as ALEX of aged between 36 and 40 while the other victim is 40 year old KAFULA CHILESHE.

Mr MWALE has told ZNBC News that the survivor sustained multiple deep cuts on the forehead and has since been taken to Matero First Level One Hospital for medical attention.

He said the deceased’s body has been deposited in the mortuary at the University Teaching Hospital.

Mr MWALE said Police suspect that the victims were drinking together with the assailants as there was no sign of a break in at the bar.

He said property worth over 8 thousand has been stolen at the tavern and that Police have since instituted investigations in the matter.
