The Moses of our time leads Zanaco out of the relegation zone

Moses Phiri scored a late brace to guide the Bankers to only their second win of the season as they beat Forest Rangers 2-0 away at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Zanaco came into the match looking to maintain their dominance over Forest Rangers, having beaten the Ndola-based outfit nine times in their last 12 meetings before today’s clash.

It was a tight affair with chances coming few and apart. With the match headed for a draw, Last season’s top goalscorer Moses Phiri stole the show scoring twice in a space of six minutes.

Phiri put Zanaco in the lead in the 87th minute with a header before scoring in additional time to double the lead and seal maximum points for embattled Kelvin Kaindu.

The win takes the Bankers out of the relegation zone and up to 14th place with eight points while Fole Malembe remains in eleventh place with nine points.
