Thank you for 100% vote, we won the elections, HH tells Western Province

UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema Friday evening thanked the people of Western province saying the region gave him and his party 100 percent votes during the 2016 general elections.

Speaking on Radio Liseli and monitored by Zambian Eye, Hichilema who was flanked by his deputy Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba started by thanking the people of Mongu for giving him a thanderous welcome earlier when he arrived ahead of the Koumboka ceremony taking place Saturday.

Hichilema said he was so indebted to the people of Western province for the support saying there was no doubt that he won the elections. He said the election petition issue is still in court.

The UPND leader assured the people that he will always stand and fight for them. He said he was in the province to attend the Kuomboka ceremony.

Hichilema is also expected to hold meetings with party officials and Chiefs while in Mongu.

According to the programme lined up by the local leadership, Hichilema will also inspect some of the developmental projects in the education and health sectors he has been implementing in his individual capacity.

The country’s leading opposition leader has been implementing various developmental projects especially in the education, health and agriculture sectors across the country.
