TEQBALL CLUB LAUNCHED

The Ministry of Youth and Sports says it is open to bringing more sports disciplines in the country.

Sports Acting Permanent Secretary JOHN PHIRI says Government remains resolute to organizations that promote sports in the country and ensure Zambia keeps winning at competitive games.

PHIRI was speaking during the launch of the OYDC Teqball club in Lusaka today.

He implored the Teqball Federation of Zambia to consider rolling out the sport to all parts of the country to give everyone a chance to participate.

PHIRI said the sport is classic as it can be played as singles or doubles using a curved table.

Meanwhile, Teqball Federation of Zambia President DICKSON JERE said the federation will popularize the sport as soon as possible.

JERE said the federation would have made significant progress if not for the outbreak of COVID-19 earlier this year.

And OYDC Zambia Sports Development Center Chief Executive Officer FREDRICK CHITANGALA said the facility takes pride in being the first to register a club in the country.

CHITANGALA said management will host the sport every 2 weeks to attract more players in Lusaka.
