“TEACHERS NEED FINANCIAL LITERACY”

The Teacher Empowerment Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society is concerned with the high number of teachers that are highly indebted.

Society Chairperson JOAN CHISALA says there is need for the ministry of education to start financial literacy among the 30,000 teachers to be recruited this year.

Ms CHISALA said research conducted by her society revealed that the high number of indebted teachers is as a result of luck of financial literacy which led to poor financial decision.

Ms CHISALA said there is need to start afresh with financial literacy among the new teachers to be recruited so that they are financially stable.

She was speaking in an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka today.
