Teachers expect increased funding to sector

Mary Kachepa-Teacher Unions say they expect increased budgetary allocation to the education sector.

Zambia National Union of Teachers -ZNUT- Acting Deputy General Secretary DAVID SIAMUTWA says the free education policy which is very progressive has brought along some challenges which need to be addressed.

The union leader has told ZNBC News that he expects increased tax relief for the teachers.

Meanwhile Secondary School Teachers Union of Zambia -SESTUZ- General Secretary SITIBEKISO WAMUYUWA said he expects government to continue building on the good policies of 2022.

Mr. WAMUYUWA said there is also need to buy teaching and learning materials to ensure quality education.
