TAYALI DEMANDS PROBE IN DREDGER SUPPLY CONTRACT

Transport and Logistics Minister, FRANK TAYALI has directed officers under his ministry to follow up with MCD Civil and Mechanical Engineering which hired to supply 12 dredgers in 2015 but only delivered three.

Mr. TAYALI says this is despite the supplier being paid about 8.6 million United States Dollars by Government out of the 11.8 million United States Dollars.

He said it is unacceptable that even when over 70 percent of the contract sum was paid the supplier only managed to deliver three dredgers out of the required 12.

Mr. TAYALI was speaking when he toured the government harbor in Samfya on his continued tour of water transport and infrastructure under his ministry.
