Tambatanva counsels Solwezi civic authorities on financial management

Lupindula Mwewa-Labour and Social Security Minister BRENDA TAMBATAMBA has advised   the Solwezi Municipal Council to utilise financial resources prudently.

Ms. TAMBATAMBA says the public have lost trust in local authorities because of the misappropriation of public funds that has taken hold in most local authorities across the country.

She has challenged the Municipality to rebuild trust in the public through Efficient service delivery.

Speaking during the installation ceremony of Solwezi Mayor REMMY KALEPA, Ms. TAMBATAMBA urged the mayor and twelve  Councillors to consult the relevant authorities and work within the law.

She said the United Party For National Development – UPND will not tolerate any illegality or abuse of authority by any party official.

Meanwhile, Mr. KALEPA has pledged to work on the challenges that the district is currently experiencing.

He has urged councillors in his district to engage members of the Public and address their challenges within their wards.
