STAR MILLING STARTS MONITORING RETAIL PRICES

By Hector Simfukwe

Star Milling Company has started monitoring traders that are selling its mealie meal to ensure that they sale the commodity at the recommended price.

Company Marketing Manager FRANCIS MUMBA says the idea is to deal with traders who may be exploiting consumers.

And Mr. MUMBA has announced that the firm has been given more maize by the Food Reserve Agency.

Meanwhile Copperbelt Minister ELISHA MATAMBO says the measures that have been put in place by government to curb smuggling have started bearing fruits.

Mr. MATAMBO told ZNBC news in Ndola that this can be seen from the number of trucks which have been impounded following the beefing up of security in the smuggling hotspots.

He said the provincial administration has further involved Mayors and Town Clerks in the fight against smuggling.
