Smuggling should be curbed – LUFUMA

(ZANIS) Defence Minister AMBROSE LUFUMA says smuggling is NOT over, but has reached manageable levels.

Mr. LUFUMA says officers should remain vigilant to ensure smuggling is ended.

He said this when he addressed defence forces at a meeting in Kasama.

And Mr LUFUMA has appealed to the men and women in uniform to maintain the peace and tranquility of the country.

Meanwhile, Paramount Chief CHITIMUKULU has praised the defence force for maintaining peace and security in the country.

He noted that the country saw a peaceful transition of government owing to the discipline exhibited by the defence force.

The traditional leader said this when the Defence minister paid a courtesy call on him at his palace.
