Sinda Commissions Road Equipment Bought Using CDF

By Christopher Miti

Sinda Town Council has commissioned road equipment worth 5.5 million Kwacha purchased using Constituency Development Fund.

The equipment include a caterpillar grader for Kapoche Constituency and a Tractor loader backhoe for Sinda Constituency.

Speaking during the commissioning of the equipment, Eastern Province Minister PETER PHIRI said the initiative to procure earth moving equipment will trigger economic and social development.

Mr PHIRI said considering the continued increase of the CDF allocation, the local authority must not end at procuring the grader and tractor loader backhoe.

And Kapoche Member of Parliament LUCKSON LUNGU appealed to the government to come up with a backup fund that will go towards repairing the equipment.

And Sinda Member of Parliament MASAUSO TEMBO called on stakeholders to guard the equipment jealously.

Meanwhile, Chieftainess KAWAZA, who spoke on behalf of traditional leaders, said she is hopeful that trunk roads will be opened following the purchase of the equipment.
