SINDA CHIEFS GIVE COUNCIL 5,000 Ha OF LAND

Chiefs in Sinda district in Eastern Province have handover to the local authority 5,000 hectares of land for the expansion of Sinda town.
Sinda district council chairperson Mike Phiri told ZANIS in an interview  that Chieftainess Kawaza and Nyanje released land for the growth of the town saying it is now open for more investments.
Mr. Phiri said the council is currently waiting for the department of physical planning to survey the area before approval from Paramount Chief Gawa Undi.
He said the council was not able to allocate adequate space for both commercial and residential developers as it did not have suitable land.
Mr. Phiri has thanked the traditional leaders for the gesture.
And Eastern Province Permanent Secretary Chanda Kasolo has advised the council in Sinda district to consider allocating residential plots to traditional leaders in the district.
