Shock and grief as father poisons two children before committing suicide

A 32 year old man in Vubwi district in Eastern Province has poisoned his two children before he committed suicide, allegedly in despair over the separation of his wife.The man identified as Brighton Phiri is said to have poisoned himself and his two sons following a marital dispute where his wife left him and got married to a Mozambican man.Eastern Province Commissioner of Police Luckson Sakala who confirmed the incident said the Phiri and his two sons had gone missing on 23rd July and were discovered dead on Tuesday in a bush near the village.Sakala said it is alleged that the deceased made his children drink a suspected poisonous substance before he also took it.And Sakala said the bodies were discovered in a decomposed state and advised the bereaved family to proceed with the burial.
