“SEAL CORRUPTION LOOPHOLES”

Acting Secretary to the Cabinet PATRICK KANGWA has challenged Chief Executive Officers from various institutions to identify and seal corruption loopholes within their systems.

Mr. KANGWA says institutions need to move towards achieving zero audit queries which he notes that can only be achieved if the necessary interventions are implemented.

He has further implored the CEOs to curtail the loss of public resources through bad procurement practices, fraud, theft and embezzlement among others.

The Acting Secretary to the Cabinet was speaking when he opened the Anti Corruption Commission -ACC – CEOs Forum in Lusaka today.

Mr. KANGWA said it is possible to achieve zero audit queries by 2023 in Government institutions if everyone takes an active role in fighting corruption.

He stated that 1-hundred and 23-institutions have so far established integrity committees.

Meanwhile, ACC Acting Director General SILUMESI MUCHULA said the objective of the forum is to capacitate integrity committees to up their game and sniff out corruption in their organizations, while adhering to the tenets of leadership.

Mr. MUCHULA said Government takes cognizance that integrity committees are key to promoting professionalism at any workplace.

He said President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has made timely pronouncements to champion the fight against corruption with integrity committees playing a pivotal role in promoting accountability and good Governance.
