Schools Told to Start Production Units

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of General Education Jobbicks Kalumba has challenged schools across the country to embark on food production units if they are to be self-sufficient.Dr. Kalumba  says time has come for private and public schools across the country to begin to generate income if they want to run the operations of their institutions smoothly.He adds that the enrichment of food production units especially in boarding schools will also improve the diet for pupils.He said this in an interview with ZNBC news after inspecting Masaiti boarding secondary school that has put up 4 fishponds out of which 2 are ready for fish stocking.And school head teacher Richman Njovu told the PS that the school has ordered over 6000 fingerlings ready for stocking next week.
