SAMPA elected PF President

The Patriotic Front -PF- has elected MILES SAMPA as Party President at an extra -ordinary General Conference held at Lusaka’s Mulungushi International Conference Centre.

Mr. SAMPA, who is Matero Member of Parliament, was elected after polling over 2,000 votes beating six other candidates.

And in his acceptance speech, Mr. SAMPA pledged to unite the PF.

He also appointed MORGAN NG’ONA as PF Secretary General.

Earlier, MAFINGA Member of Parliament ROBERT CHABINGA pledged to support Mr. SAMPA.

But PF Chairperson for Information and Publicity EMMANUEL MWAMBA noted that the extra-ordinary convention was illegal.

Mr. MWAMBA said Mr. SAMPA remains suspended from the PARTY and cannot therefore hold any function or activity in the name of the Patriotic Front.

He said the constitution is clear on how the General Conferences are called and held.
