Ministry of Local Government Permanent Secretary MAAMBO HAMAUNDU has called on the local authority to regulate the sale of food stuffs in open places to prevent the outbreak of cholera.

Mr HAMAUNDU says the continued sale of food in undesignated places in the CBD has the potential to cause the outbreak of cholera.

He says traders without proper places should engage the local authority to allocate them places in designated places.

This follows the call by minister of health SILVIA MASEBO to members of the public to desist from buying food for immediate consumption from the streets.
