By Hector Simfukwe

The Southern African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes -SACCORD- has urged the Police to provide adequate security to all political parties and their candidates ahead of the Kabwata by elections slated for January 20, 2022.

SACCORD Executive Director BONIFACE CHEEMBE says the Police should also ensure that there is proper harmonization of the campaign schedules.

Mr. CHEEMBE says the police should also professionally administer the Public Order Act so that all candidates and parties are given an opportunity to peacefully market their manifestos to electorates.

He says SACCORD, is happy with the peaceful manner in which political parties file in their nominations, yesterday.

Mr. CHEEMBE has also urged political parties and candidates NOT to engage in any acts of political violence.

This is contained in a statement made available to ZNBC News in Lusaka.

The Kabwata seat fell vacant following the death of Member of Parliament LEVY M’KANDAWIRE..
