RTSA ponders waiving fines, reviewing speed limits

THE Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) is considering waiving fines slapped on over-speeding motorists captured by cameras mounted on some roads in Lusaka.
Chief executive officer Zindaba Soko said RTSA may also consider reducing the K300 fine imposed on erring motorists once it conducts a countrywide motor vehicle census.
He said in an interview yesterday that RTSA will today hold a meeting with Intelligent Mobility Solutions, the company which has been engaged to manage the speed camera system, to discuss the matter.
Mr Soko said the meeting will deliberate on the possibility of waiving fines and address various concerns raised by members of the public.
