Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) plans for Presidential Inauguration Day

THE Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) says it has deployed adequate traffic enforcement officers to ensure road safety for all road users ahead of the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Edgar Lungu and Vice president-elect Inonge Wina.

RTSA Head of Public Relations Frederick Mubanga has disclosed in a statement that the Agency has provided necessary logistics at strategic locations across the country to address safety challenges.

He says RTSA is on high alert to conduct traffic management and enforcement operations to ensure that the inauguration ceremony is free from any road accidents.

“We therefore urge all Zambians to uphold the spirit of peace and safer road culture as they celebrate the inauguration ceremony,”Mubanga says.

Mubanga has added that the Agency has noted that the inauguration period is critical, which is likely to attract an increase in human and vehicle traffic that possess challenges to road safety.

He has since called on motorists to sustain peace and consider other road users during this celebration.

“In anticipation of an increase in traffic, the Agency has deployed adequate road traffic enforcement officers to address safety challenges across the country,” says Mubanga.

“The RTSA Call Centre remains open to receive calls from the public in relation to road safety matters for prompt mobilization of traffic enforcement operations while our partners and others stakeholders are on alert.”
