RELEASE FUNDS FOR MUFULIRA -MOKAMBO ROAD

Mufulira District Commissioner SABOI KABIKA has called for funds to rehabilitate the Mufulira – Mokambo Road on the Copperbelt Province.

Ms. KABIKA says the road which services over 50 trucks a day, is dilapidated and is impassable during the rainy season.

She says during the rainy season truck drivers and motorists are not able to use the economic road as they fear damaging their vehicles, hence affecting business.

Ms. KABIKA was speaking when Ministry of Infrastructure Permanent Secretary DANNY MFUNE paid a courtesy call at her office.

And Ministry of Infrastructure Permanent Secretary DANNY MFUNE said issues affecting trade at Mokambo Border Post must be made priority.

Meanwhile, Mufulira Mayor TANAELI KAMANGA said temporary measures are not key in improving the state in which Mufulira- Mokambo road is currently in.

Mr. KAMANGA said much needs to be done before the rainy season, to avoid previous situations were trucks and vehicles get stuck in mud.
