Regatta set for October

The Zambezi Boat Club Regatta Organizing Committee has tentatively set the second Saturday of October, as the date for this year’s regatta.

Zambezi Boat Club Secretary VINCENT KAMWANYA has told ZNBC news in an exclusive interview that preparations to hold the rowing sport on the Zambezi River have started.

KAMWANYA says a number of sponsors that funded the Regatta last year have indicated that they will equally sponsor this year’s regatta.

Meanwhile, KAMWANYA says the dry spell experienced in the last rainy season leading to low water levels will not affect the hosting of the regatta.

He says while the starting point may change, the event will go ahead as planned in October.

The rowing sport provides entertainment to the people of Livingstone and adds value and colour to tourism in the tourist capital…
