Red Arrows move up to third, Nkwazi thump Young Green Eagles as Power hand ZESCO their second successive defeat

Red Arrows moved up to third place on the log following an emphatic 3-0 win over Forest Rangers while ZESCO United suffered their second successive defeat as Power Dynamos returned to winning ways.

The MTN/FAZ Super League entered week 31 of action this afternoon with four matches taking center stage.

The Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe hosted a doubleheader. In the early kick-off, relegated Kitwe United continued their recent good form as they beat Kabwe Warriors 2-1.

Goals from Kabangwe Mwaba and Josphat Kasusu put Chingalika in the lead before Akakulubelwa Mwachiaba could pull one back for the magnificent people’s team but it was a little too late as Kitwe United held on to record only their second win of the season.

In the second match of the afternoon at the same venue, Godfrey Ngwenya’s first-half strike was enough to hand Power Dynamos their first win in five games and ZESCO United their second successive defeat in a row.

Elsewhere, Ten-man Red Arrows thrashed Forest Rangers 3-0 with second-half goals to move up to third place on the log with 46 points, 9 adrift of log leaders ZESCO United.

James Chamanga opened the scores in the 52nd minute, Kayembe Alidor doubled the lead thirteen minutes later before Alassane Diarra could seal the win eight minutes to time. Prosper Chiluya was given marching orders after a second bookable offense.

At Edwin Imboela Stadium, goals from Jeff Banda, Christopher Zulu, and Edward Mwamba gave the Zambia police-sponsored outfit a well-deserved 3-0 win over Young Green Eagles.

The action continues tomorrow as Nkana welcome Lusaka Dynamos, Indeni battle NAPSA Stars as ZANACO face off with Green Buffaloes while Buildcon visits Green Eagles away in Choma.
