RE-ENGAGE BONDHOLDERS – KANYAMA

Economist Chibamba Kanyama says Government still has chance to settle the interest payments and re-engage the holders of the country’s Eurobonds.

Mr. Kanyama says Government needs to come up with various measures among them, relying on domestic revenue and other expenditure that are not of priority.

He says there is no need for despondency among Zambians over the recent move by holders of the Zambian Eurobonds to reject Government’s request to delay interest payments.

Mr. Kanyama has told ZNBC News in an interview that Government can also come up with strategies on how citizens can help contribute towards the repayment of the debt.
