RDA PROBING ROAD CONTRACTS SIGNED BY PRIVATE FIRM

The Road Development Agency -RDA- has refuted reports that a contract has been signed for the maintenance of the Kipushi-Solwezi-Katima Mulilo road in North-Western province.

RDA Acting Director Communications and Corporate Affairs, ANTHONY MULOWA also says the agency has NOT signed any contract for the Mansa-Luwingu-Kasama-Mbala-Nakonde road.

Mr MULOWA has explained that a firm, identified as Mayzuh Zambia, has allegedly signed two financing contracts with three Zambian companies to undertake works on the two road corridors.

He has added that the two contracts are purported to have been signed on April 15, 2023 in Lusaka.

Mr MULOWA says the RDA has since instituted investigations to establish people or companies behind the purported signing of the road contracts.

He has added that the Public Roads Act only mandates the RDA, as the only body to provide for the care, maintenance, and construction of public roads in Zambia.
