RAMCOZ EMPLOYEES RECEIVE PENSION BENEFITS

Government has released funds for pension benefits for all eligible former Roan Antelope Mining Corporation (RAMCOZ) employees.

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services Permanent Secretary AMOS MALUPENGA says the funds have been availed to the office of the Administrator General for settling outstanding RAMCOZ liabilities including amounts owed to NAPSA in unpaid contributi
ns.

Mr. MALUPENGA says the move means that all eligible former RAMCOZ employees can now access their pension benefits from NAPSA.

He adds that NAPSA has since started payment of pension benefits to eligible former RAMCOZ employees.

Mr. MALUPENGA has since encouraged those eligible to visit any nearest NAPSA office for further guidance.

In a statement to ZNBC News in Lusaka today, Mr. MALUPENGA said government is pleased that this matter which has dragged for many years has finally been concluded in the interest of the workers.

RAMCOZ was placed under receivership in November 2000 and subsequently liquidated in 2004.

Prior to its liquidation, the office of the Administrator General was appointed as Official Receiver.

RAMCOZ was at the time of liquidation owing a number of statutory bodies including the NAPSA in unpaid statutory contributions.
