PUT HOUSE IN ORDER – MULUNDA

The Parliamentary Committee on Local Government Accounts has expressed concern over the poor management of Chongwe Municipal Council stating that the failure to put their documents in order is an act of negligence that must be urgently addressed.

Committee Chairperson DARIOUS MULUNDA has since asked the Chongwe municipal Council to submit documents omitted in their submission by Thursday this week.

Mr. MULUNDA says information that the committee receives is vital.

He says it is important for the council to improve on record keeping and put all documents in place.

Mr MULUNDA was speaking when the Chongwe municipal Council made a submission to the committee on Local Government Accounts at Parliament today.

And Chongwe Town Clerk MULOWA SISHUMBA said the council is putting in place modalities to improve revenue collection and data collection methods.
