PUPILS ABANDON CLASS FOR CATERPILLERS

By Katwishi Bwalya

Pupils in examination classes in Lunte district, Northern province, are reported to have abandoned classes, in preference for caterpillar catching.

And Lunte Member of Parliament, Mutotwe Kafwaya has since asked teachers to engage parents to ensure the practice is stopped.

Mr Kafwaya was shocked to learn that few pupils are attending lessons, when he visited Songolo Primary School.

And School Headteacher, Maxwell Mumba has told Mr Kafwaya that pupils prefer catching caterpillars, at the expense of learning.
