PROFESSOR SAASA DISAPPOINTED WITH SLOW PROGRESS OF PPDF

Economist Oliver Saasa has expressed dissatisfaction with the sluggish progress in implementing the objectives of the Public-Private Dialogue Forum-PPDF-.
According to Professor Saasa, the PPDF was established to facilitate economic growth and development in Zambia through fostering public-private partnerships but the government has not been sufficiently open to engaging in dialogue with the private sector.
Professor Saasa emphasized that without the government actively involving private sector stakeholders, expanding the market for the private sector and unlocking Zambia’s investment potential for economic development would prove to be a challenging endeavor.
He says the current state of affairs leaves the private sector with a sense of exclusion from the government’s development agenda.
