PROBE IN DEATH OF TOLL GATE COP ADVANCE

Home Affairs and Internal Security Minister JACK MWIIMBU says investigations into the case where a police officer was shot dead at Kalenshi toll gate in Kasama have advanced.

Mr. MWIIMBU however says no arrests have been made yet.

He says on 8th October 2021 Kasama central police recorded a murder case in which a police officer was shot dead whilst on duty at Kalensi toll gate by a lone bandit.

He has assured the nation that the Zambia police service has intensified security at all tollgates.

Mr. MWIIMBU says the toll collectors have been counseled and redeployed.

He said this when he issued a statement on the state of security at toll gates following the attack on a police officer and cashiers at Kalense toll gate in Kasama.

Mr. MWIIMBU said the police service will ensure there is more than one officer manning the toll gates at a time.
