“PROBE CHILD MINING IN SAMFYA”

The Children in Need Network has urged the Ministry of Mines and other stakeholders to thoroughly investigate the use of children at the manganese mines in Samfya district.
This follows the death of three juveniles who were buried at a manganese mine.
Network’s acting Executive Director, Beston Banda said it is disheartening that three juveniles lost their lives in the accident.
In an interview with ZNBC news in Lusaka today, Mr Banda said children should not be working in an environment like a mine or any other company because it is illegal.
