Private sector key to economic transformation-HH

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says Government is determined to build a robust economy through the private sector.

And President HICHILEMA has assured the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises -MSMEs- of support and empowerment.

The President said this in a speech read on his behalf by Small and Medium Enterprises Development Minister ELIAS MUBANGA during the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission -CEEC- Presidential Awards for SMEs and Cooperatives last night.

President HICHILEMA also encourage MSMEs to be innovative and hardworking, to contribute  significantly to the country’s economic development

And, CEEC Director General Dr. MUWE MUNGULE emphasized efforts of SMEs in the country’s development.

Dr MUNGULE disclosed that the award recipients will receive a total of over K2m and K500.

And CEEC Board Chairperson JASON KAZILIMANI acknowledged the challenges faced by the SMEs sector and emphasized the importance of addressing the constraints.

Mr. KAZILIMANI said that CEEC’s role extends beyond financing SMEs and cooperatives, as it also assists in implementing measures to support their growth.

Several SME’s and Cooperatives were awarded during the ceremony.
