President Lungu Directs New Accountant General To Ensure Financial Prudence

President Edgar Lungu has directed newly appointed Accountant General, Kennedy Musonda to ensure prudence in the management of government resources.

President Lungu has urged Mr. Musonda to execute his duties to the expectations of the Zambian people having held the same position from 2008 to 2012.

He was speaking at State House this morning when he swore in Mr Musonda who takes over as accountant general from Dickson Sichembe who has been elevated as auditor general pending ratification by parliament.

Meanwhile, the head of state says there is urgent need to ensure the export of goats to Saudi Arabia is actualized without fail.

Speaking when he swore in newly appointed Permanent Secretary in the Ministry Of Fisheries and Livestock Benson Mwenya, President Lungu says the opportunity to exploit goats to the Saudi Arabian market should not be misused.

Meanwhile, President Lungu has directed Dr. Mwenya to put up an aggressive programme to address the current fish deficit the country is experiencing.
