PRESIDENT HICHILEMA ASSURES THAT ZAMBIA WILL OVERCOME CHALLENGES RESULTING FROM CURRENT DROUGHT SITUATION

President Hakainde Hichilema has assured the nation that Zambia will overcome the present challenges being experienced resulting from the drought situation.
Speaking at the launch of the Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula Foundation in Lusaka last night, President Hichilema said Zambia will be able to provide food for its citizens and increase resilience going forward so that it becomes both food and energy secure.
The president has however advised citizens to emulate the late Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula strong character and know that the current situation will be history though it would require hard work from every Zambian.
The head of state has also applauded the organizers of the Harry Mwangala Nkumbula foundation saying events such as this enable those living today to pick lessons from great leaders such as Mr. Nkumbula and many others that immensely contributed to Zambia’s freedom that is being enjoyed today.
And delivering a public lecture, Chief Justice Mumba Malila who called for the honoring of Zambia’s fallen heroes in various spheres described the late Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula as a leader with consistent good leadership qualities which should be emulated by all.
The Harry Mwangala Nkumbula Foundation has been established to preserve the memory of the late Nkumbula and to promote and defend the principles of liberal nationalism for which he stood for.
