Pres. Lungu Confers with Diplomatic Community

President Edgar Lungu has touched base with the diplomatic corps in Zambia assuring of the country’s total cooperation with the donor community.

During the annual shake and greet ceremony for diplomats President Lungu disclosed that government will hold a first ever Economic Diplomacy Forum this year in Lusaka.

The Head of State said that Zambia enjoys good relations with the diplomatic community and would continue to strengthen the ties.

President Lungu assured the diplomats that Zambia would continue to guard against abuse of donor funds and also stick to stick democratic tenets.

He also expressed confidence that SADC member states scheduled to hold elections this year will do so in an equally peaceful manner to ensure political stability in the region.

Meanwhile Dean of Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Angola to Zambia Balbina Da Silva urged the diplomatic community to emulate Zambia’s commitment to peace and stability.

He commended Zambia for upholding peace and unity as well as promoting good governance in the southern African development community and the global community.
