Power and Zanaco share spoils in a six goal thriller, Prison win as Buildcon draw again

Action from week nine of the MTN Super League continued on Sunday afternoon with three matches closing the curtain on the weekends’ action.

At Arthur Davies Stadium, Power Dynamos came from two goals down to rescue a point against fellow strugglers, Sensational Zanaco.

Souleymanou Moussa put the Bankers in the lead just two minutes into the match with a close-range finish after a beautiful pass from Peter Kalota.

Last season’s top goalscorer Moses Phiri doubled the lead in the 45th minute with yet again another close-range finish after Power Dynamos’ defenders failed to clear a cross from Souleymanou.

Power got their lifeline in the 63rd minute after the referee pointed to the spot following a foul on a substitute, Joshua ‘Budo’ Mutale. Godfrey Ngwenya stepped up and sent Charles Lawu the wrong way, 2-1.

It was 2-2 five minutes later as another substitute, Luka Chamanga got in on the action with a brilliant strike from outside the 18-yard area to level matters.

It was a day for substitutes, Ackim Mumba scored a stunner in the 82nd minute to put Zanaco in the lead but Power refused to sit down as Bakodila leveled matters at the death to make sure the two teams shared the spoils.

At Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Buildcon and Red Arrows played out to a goalless draw while in Kabwe, Prison Leopards edged Chambishi 2-1.

The win takes the Collect Boys to 16th place with eight points and just a point shy of moving out of the relegation zone.
